Sofka lands in North America under the leadership of the CEO

Today, we had the opportunity to speak with our CEO of Sofka Technologies, Esteban Alonso, a Uruguayan by birth and a Colombian by heart. He shared with us about the company’s expansion into the North American market and his leadership role in making it happen.

Daniela Quintero: Tell us, what motivated you to make this decision, and what opportunities do you see in the US market?

Esteban Alonso: The decision to relocate to Miami was driven by our vision of becoming a global leader in the industry. Currently, our focus is on expanding in the USA, as it represents one of the most dynamic and innovative markets in the world. We saw a tremendous opportunity to offer our technological solutions to international clients, and we are fully equipped to meet the demands of an ever-evolving industry. Moreover, Miami’s business ecosystem and strategic position as a gateway to Latin America and an upcoming reference as a tech hub within the US, further strengthen our presence in the region, where we are actively working.

D.Q: It’s exciting to hear about your expansion plans! What challenges do you anticipate in leading Sofka’s international expansion, and how do you plan to address them?

E.A: Undoubtedly, international expansion brings unique challenges. One of them is adapting to different business cultures and regulatory requirements in each market. To tackle this, we are committed to conducting thorough market research and establishing strategic local partnerships. This will provide us with a deep understanding of our clients’ needs and enable us to effectively tailor our offering. 

Additionally, we have a highly skilled and diverse team that will play a crucial role in the success of our expansion. For that reason, we have been working on this strategy for several years, laying the foundations to be able to expand our operations in North America. 

D.Q: Impressive strategic approach. How do you believe this international expansion will benefit Sofka’s clients?

E.A: Our international expansion will bring significant benefits to our clients. Firstly, they will have access to our innovative expertise and technological knowledge that adapts to this ever-changing world. Furthermore, being geographically closer to our clients allows us to provide even more agile and personalized services, tailored to their specific needs, remembering that closeness is one of  our principal pillars within our values. 

I also would like to highlight three things in the benefits for our clients of retail, banking and healthcare industries: first of all, the time zone; secondly, our cultural proximity, and thirdly, the cost of our services.

D.Q: Do you have something to say about your current clients and the impact of this expansion?

Although we have a focus on the USA, our current clients are very important to us. The expansion will help us grow in Latin America, by gaining more capabilities and insights in the USA market. 

We will be able to bring new value propositions to our clients in Latin America, enriching our service portfolio in the region.

D.Q: That sounds fantastic. Finally, what message would you like to convey to Sofka’s employees and the business community in general during this exciting moment of international expansion?
